North Lakes - There's a new after hours GP in town

Wednesday, July 15, 2015
Doctor To You proudly introduces Dr Neha Goel an after hours GP in North Lakes Queensland.

From this weekend the residents of North Lakes in Brisbane's North will have access to an after hours GP from 6pm Weekdays, from 12 noon Saturday, and is available 24hrs on Sundays and Public Holidays.

For more information check out The service is 100% bulk billed for Medicare and DVA gold card holders and operates as a Medical Deputising Service, meaning we provide after hours care where your regular GP is unavailable. All doctors notes can be sent to your regular GP the next morning to ensure continuity of care.
Dr Goel is able to see North Lakes patients for a variety of complaints including influenza

Doctor To You does not provide medical emergency treatment by taking the place of 000 Emergency or your regular GP, but stands to ease some of the burden of less serious matters presented to the Emergency Departments of Brisbane’s major hospitals.

Dr Goel has spent the last four years working in various hospitals in Brisbane and says "whilst it may be easier to treat patients in hospitals, they need additional care at home to keep them away from hospitals altogether. This is why I see great benefits in partnering with Doctor To You to offer this great service."

With available appointments becoming increasingly difficult to obtain during regular GP clinic working hours, the home visit service is a great alternative for urgent attendance which is not as critical as a visit to the Emergency Department. This is especially true for parents needing re-assurance that their young children with high temperatures, rashes or those that are inconsolable are okay. A home visit from a local GP is a great option for so many.

Dr Goel and other Doctor To You GPs are there for your and your family preventing an unnecessary and potentially time-consuming trip to the local emergency department. This is particularly helpful for families with young children or the elderly who cannot easily access transport to get to the hospital.

Dr Goel says "patients are often more appreciative of a doctor who treats them in the privacy and comfort of your own home"

Dr Goel is very excited to be starting this service in the suburbs of North Brisbane and hopes to bring a vital service to the community.

It is important to remember that the service does not exist as an alternative to patients’ regular GPs, and Doctor To You under their accreditation are required to send Clinical Notes back to the patients regular GP the very next morning.
