Dr Karen Sheng is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist dedicated to providing the best health care to women of all ages. Based at the Mater Clinic in North Sydney, she delivers and operates at both the Mater Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.

Karen is also appointed as a consultant at Royal North Shore Hospital. She is involved in teaching of medical students and training registrars, and leads the high risk obstetric clinic and teaches at a colposcopy clinic weekly.

With over 15 years of experience, she offers comprehensive and individualised obstetric care to both high and low risk pregnancies, as well as all aspects of benign gynaecological problems.

Born in Taiwan and grown up in New Zealand, Karen completed her medical degree at the University of Otago and Master’s degree in Reproductive Medicine from the University of NSW. She moved to Sydney to complete her specialist training and became a Fellow with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Karen is a firm believer in the importance of communication and collaboration when it comes to managing women’s health. With her multicultural background, she understands the importance of culture and family in women’s health. Her goal is to provide personalised care in a supportive environment that is both holistic and evidence-based.

Karen is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
