With his fellowship background, Mr Patrick Chan commences his career as a consultant neurosurgeon at the Alfred Hospital with the extra credential of complex spine surgeon, conferring him the privilege to manage complex degenerative spine disease, spine trauma and tumours. As a member of Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service Neurology Tumour Group, he maintains an active interest in the care of both brain and spinal tumour.

With this background, Mr Chan commences his private practice consulting from the private medical suites at 517 St Kilda Road, Melbourne and the Epworth Centre, Richmond. He also consults the public patients at the Alfred Hospital outpatient clinic. He operates at the Epworth Hospital, Richmond, the Cabrini Hospital, Malvern, the Avenue Hospital, Windsor and the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.

Continued research and education is of importance to Mr Chan. He holds an Adjunct Senior Lecturer appointment with Department of Surgery, Monash University, and is involved with regular teaching of  medical students, neurosurgical trainees, nurses and health professionals. His national and international publications and presentations include topics on spinal trauma and tumour, epilepsy and brain tumours.
